Who we help
Most of our aged care clients share the same wish: to stay in their own home, safely, for as long as possible. Physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to make that happen. We help older adults who are:
- Noticing their walking, strength or confidence slipping
- Recovering after a fall, a hospital stay or an illness
- Living with arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson's or other long-term conditions
- Finding stairs, showering or getting out of a chair harder than it used to be
- Recently approved for a Home Care Package and wanting to use it well
- Being encouraged by worried family members (we hear this one a lot, and it's a good reason)
Falls prevention and staying mobile
One in three Australians over 65 falls each year, and the fear of falling can shrink someone's world just as much as a fall itself. The good news: the right strength and balance program measurably reduces falls risk. Our falls prevention programs are built on that evidence, and because we're in your home we can also spot practical hazards like mats, lighting and missing rails while we're there.
Alongside balance work, we help with everyday mobility: walking further, managing steps, getting in and out of the car, and keeping up the activities that make life yours.
Home Care Packages and other funding
Physiotherapy can be funded through your Home Care Package (or the newer Support at Home program). We work with all major home care providers on the Gold Coast and invoice them directly. Your care manager simply adds physiotherapy to your care plan, and we take it from there.
No package? You can pay privately, use private health extras, or ask your GP about a Medicare care plan (CDM/EPC), which rebates part of up to five sessions a year. DVA card holders may be fully covered. If the funding maze feels overwhelming, call us on 0490 427 392. Untangling it is part of our job.
Working with home care providers
Care managers and coordinators: we make allied health easy. Send a referral through our aged care referral form, and we'll contact your client within one business day, complete an initial assessment, and send you a clear summary with recommendations and proposed visit frequency. Ongoing progress notes keep your care plan current. More detail on our referrals page.
